Communicate by email or phone with a Consultant to help determine your major based on your call to ministry. Get the latest advice from a senior member of NAFSA (Association of International Educators) and a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) about recommended courses for international study abroad. Take this step if you are interested in international study abroad.
Use the curriculum from mythirdmil.org with the hyperlink of elearning@thirdmill.org or go to Thirdmill Online Courses to work toward your degree in Theology, Ministry, Biblical Studies or Christian Education. Study other materials and complete your dissertation based upon your goals and the agreement with your educational consultant. Christian University and Theological Seminary will receive updates about your progress and keep track of your grades.
Forward electronically your portfolio or resume of ministry and work experience with all transcripts. Include all work experience and courses in the workplace recommended for credit by the American Council on Education. One transcript will be provided from Excelsior College upon request.
Study abroad if desired from any program recommended by NAFSA and your Education Consultant. Christian University and Theological Seminary is a member of NAFSA via Eric Folds and a member of UNESCO.
A Certified Pastoral Counselor must have a Master's Degree in Counseling or a related field. The candidate must also be licensed and ordained by a credible religious organization and have served in the capacity of a Pastor for at least 5 years. The candidate must also have completed at least 15 credit hours in a related field from a graduate school and have completed a published thesis in the field. The certification is awarded based on educational credentials and the thesis in the field. The license as a Licensed Pastoral Counselor is awarded based on meeting all of the criteria for certification plus having worked as a Certified Pastoral Counselor for at least 2 years.
The Certified Biblical Counselor certification is awarded based on the demonstrated knowledge in the counseling field and how the Bible as God's Word is needed to address man's issues with sin and his alienation and estrangement from God. The dissertation must show how God's Word is the solution to man's problem instead of man himself. A published thesis in the field and conversion to Christianity is the criteria for this certification.
